Other names for Kānuka
are white tea tree and Burgan.
This is how you tell the differing be twin kanuka and manuka. Manka has large flowers and they are separate but Kanuka has small flowers and that are in bundles. Kanuka is only known from the north of the South Island. It is found north of the Buller and Wairau Rivers and is most common near Nelson. Bushman who used Manuka and Kanuka leaves to brew a drink similar to tea.
